Dena Backpack Giveaway

The Dena Backpack Giveaway, led by Neighborhood Survants, provided backpacks, school supplies, and essential resources to over 4,000 students, many impacted by the Eaton Canyon fires. The event helped students start the school year prepared, confident, and supported by their community.

he Dena Backpack Giveaway was a major community outreach effort by Neighborhood Survants serving students and families as they prepared for the new school year. Through this event, we provided backpacks filled with school supplies, brand-new shoes, and essential resources to over 4,000 students, many of whom are still recovering from the Eaton Canyon Wildfires. What made this initiative meaningful was not just the items distributed, but the confidence, pride, and sense of hope it brought to young people starting school with dignity and support. The success of this event was made possible through powerful partnerships with organizations like The Rose Bowl Stadium, Baby2Baby, Foot Locker, Staples, the Los Angeles Chargers’ Cameron Dicker, and community recognition from leaders such as Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Councilmember Tyrone Hampton — all standing together to uplift youth and strengthen community resilience.
